Bob Sharples Photography Favourite Images 2010

Fox, image not as sharp as I would like but great to see a fox so close. One of the adult Chough over the Lizard The Herons nesting at Marazion Oyster Catcher in full flight Cormorant, the panning of the camera has created a good sense of speed. Winter in Marazion, Fieldfare in the open facing the elements Bittern, one of my closest views of a Bittern in flight. I did not realise the talons were so huge! Kestrel in the hover, baclit wit a great blue sky. Canada Goose, charging across the water A rubbish shot as regards photo quality but a not to often seen, Spotted Sandpiper Black Necked Grebe at Drift, I just like the motion blur created in this one. Kestrel with Prey at Marazion, this was close up, the web image won't do it justice. The Kestrel wasn't fazed at all by my presence about 20 ft away! Cormorant feeding, a little distant for quality, just looks like a famuily group one youngster getting the food while the othe cries for a share of the spoils. Gadwall at Stithians, again luck played a part perfect light and perfect position in front of the hide at Stithians. Grey Heron with fish. Difficult to capture because of the reeds, but maual focus achieved the result I needed. Heligan's most famous visitor this year, a Green Heron. I had to carry some heavy camera gear over some serious distance but worth it to record this bird.
